Hey there! I’m Nora

Most of us have grown up being told that our productive outputs are what defines our worth. ‘Work’ is more valued than art, and creative pursuits are seen as hobbies at best. For those of us who care about the state of the world, we might additionally be driven by the urgency of the complex challenges humanity is facing, or the depth of the pain we feel.

So for years, I focused all my energy on the so-called ‘productive’ contributions to making a change, which you might be doing too. But this can lead to burnout, like it did for me.

Rediscovering art-based practices as a form of emotional expression and as a tool for both healing and change-making made me realise that this intersection of self-care and creativity is needed in order for us to show up fully as the changemakers and caregivers we are.

We can't bring solutions and ideas that truly stem from a different place if we are not creative and innovative. And if we don’t care for ourselves, we can't be changemakers and do this work sustainably over time.

We need to replenish our own wells to truly be able to support others. Creative practices are a wonderful way to do so - and so the well was born.

The source of our inspiration

"Even those of us who take for granted a constant supply of water piped into our homes nevertheless understand the value of a good well. It's in our folk memory, an archetypal image in our collective unconscious. A good well will never run dry; you can always depend on it. And water is the source of life. But the source of life, like all things, must be cared for; a good well must be tended."
