“Let loose the medicine in your own hands” - Ian McCallum
Enjoy the intimacy of an online one-on-one creative journey, guided by Michelle Knight (ASTAR trained facilitator - Awakening Spirit Through Art) from South Africa. Focusing on a theme that is relevant and meaningful to you currently in life, you will embark on a unique creative journey of weekly 2h sessions, tailored to your needs. No art experience is required.
You’ll experience…
Fully customised workshops based on your current needs and wishes, as well as Michelle’s expertise and guidance in the process you are going through
What art-making as a weekly wellbeing practice can do for body, mind and soul - leaving you with the momentum to keep the habit and continue to look after yourself.
A judgement-free space where your inner child and sense of play are invited to take over from the restraints of adult life – so you can create and make art without the pressure of it needing to be “good.”
A new meaning of what art/creative self-expression truly is. Your subconscious will speak to you in a way it might not have done before because it’s hard to give it the time and space to do so.
Regenerated energy and enthusiasm for your life, career, or purpose - because you’ve created space for self-care and tended to your wellbeing.
How your journey unfolds
During the sign-up, you will be able to directly book a 30min slot for a kick-off conversation with Michelle. During that conversation, you will find dates and times that work for both of you for all the sessions of your 1-1 journey.
1
You will also identify the theme or question that feels relevant and meaningful to your current live, which will inspire this creative journey. Michelle will then send you a list of materials to gather for the first session.
2
The process then begins on the agreed upon date with the weekly 2-hour artmaking sessions with Michelle for 6-8 weeks, online via zoom, at an agreed upon time.
3
Each session begins with a brief check-in, followed by a meditation to ground you into the present moment, let go of your to-do list, and let your mind and body know that it’s time to slow down and make space for creativity – so you can get the most out of the sessions.
4
Michelle then guides you through the artmaking process, adapting the guidance to your needs and preferred learning style, addressing any blockages that might come up directly and personally.
5
The workshops all end with a reflection exercise, typically including journaling, that allows you to bring the session to a close and integrate any insights that might have emerged.
6
The final session of the series allows for a reflection of the process as a whole - a harvesting of the gold that has emerged through the creative journey.

It’s not just an art workshop
This is the deepest form of art-based process we can offer. All of our workshops are designed to support transformation and profound insights, and our participants report shifts in energy, new-found clarity and real-life changes. But nothing beats 1-1, fully personalised support and guidance, which is what this journey offers.
A 1-1 journey with Michelle is for you if
You want to prioritise your self-care and use art as a tool in a non-judgmental space.
You have tried different approaches and realised art-based processes work really well for you; or that nothing has made the difference you wish it did and are ready for something different.
You realise that positive change in the world doesn’t happen without change within, and you know connection to yourself and nature is essential.
You’re feeling a bit lost, overwhelmed, or at a crossroads and you want a gentle space to come back to yourself.
You know that you need some help to prioritise creative play – and you know you won’t make time for it on your own.
You want to gain insights and clarity over your next steps and want to learn how to uncover deeper layers and ‘live into the answers’ with personal guidance rather than forcing yourself to rationally craft answers to your questions or develop a linear plan for your next steps
Pricing
An hour with Michelle normally starts at 95€ per hour. For a customised journey, you have two options:
A 6 week journey with a weekly 2h workshop for 655 € (instead of 1’050, so only 54.5/h)
An 8 week journey with a weekly 2h workshops for 825€ (instead of 1’520, so only 51.6/h)
The ‘6 week journey’ refers to 6 sessions of 2h, but it could also be spread out across up to 8 weeks. The ‘8 week journey’ can be spread out on up to 12 weeks.
Although they often are, financial means should never be an obstacle to taking care of and expressing ourselves. We would recommend starting with one of our self-paced journeys, for which we offer need-based scholarships. These come in the form of reducing the cost by anything between 20 and 80%. If you need individual support, you can add on an hour with Michelle at a discounted price. You can inquire about one through this form here.
If you would like to get in touch directly with us to ask questions before booking, you can do so here.
Introducing Michelle, your teacher and guide
Michelle Knight has been a trained Awakening the Spirit Through Art (ASTAR) facilitator since 2011, has studied Fine Art, and is a qualified teacher and Lifeline counsellor. She practices what she preaches and has her own weekly art-making practice with the founder of the ASTAR method, Lindy Solomon.
She’s passionate about holding a space that allows others to discover and celebrate their uniqueness. It’s such a joy to witness her students rediscovering their creative spirit and freedom. We are honoured to have her as part of ‘the well’ to help people fill up their own wells and to heal and grow through creativity.

A note from Nora, founder
I set up the well because I’ve experienced first-hand what burnout, exhaustion, and poor mental health can do and how it negatively impacted the change-making work I cared so deeply about. I didn’t think I had the time for self-care, and I didn’t think it was worth it – especially when there were others whose situations were much more dire than my own.
I learned the hard way that sacrificing yourself at the altar of change is not the way to foster a more regenerative and just future. I had to reach rock bottom before recognising what I was doing was not working and start to chart a new course. But eventually, I rediscovered my passion for life, worked through the complex emotions I felt, and healed my burnout by using art and creative self-expression for self-care.
Michelle's work first found its way to me in 2020. When I say her work is magic, I really mean that. I had never met someone who leverages so many different creative media – collage, drawing, painting, clay, mobile making, you name it – and makes them not only approachable for truly anyone, but also infuses the process with so much heart and care that you can't help but be transformed by the experience.
When I started the well in 2023, it was obvious to me that I wanted to collaborate with her and bring my skills in to complement and elevate her gifts. I'm so grateful for how our collaboration has flourished since, and I can't wait for you to experience its benefits!
We need you to have a full well

We cannot fill others’ wells up if our own is not full. If you are ready for a deep-dive, a customised 1-1 journey is a great option for you.
You are worth it The world/future needs you, it needs all of us, but it needs you well, and fully able to show up for the work you’re here to do and the contribution you’re here to make. With Michelle’s guidance, you can move through the challenges you are facing, process what is unfolding and find clarity in your path.
FAQs
Do I have to have my camera on for the workshops with Michelle?
To create an environment that is as similar to an in-person workshop as possible, we encourage everyone to have their camera on. The camera is oriented to show us for the first part of the workshop, and when the creative process begins, Michelle encourages everyone to angle the camera so that only your hands and emerging creations are visible. This allows her to get a sense of where everyone is at in the process, tune into the group and individual energy and offer supportive guidance. It is however not a must, and you are free to leave your camera off if that would make you more comfortable.
How big are the group sizes?
This is a one-on-one, fully customised journey for you only. If you wish, you could also consider booking it for you and a friend or partner.
I am an artist - will this be too basic for me?
Because we aren’t an art course it doesn’t matter whether you’ve been an artist for 20 years or didn’t create since primary school. Each of our ateliers leverages a specific art-based practice to nourish and support you in different ways. How you engage with it is entirely up to you. The process typically yields outcomes such as new insights, a deeper connection to self, a renewed sense of hope and creativity… Artists are more than welcome, it’s good practice to create for yourself rather than an output every once in a while.
What if I don’t have access to materials?
All of our Journeys and workshops are designed with ease and accessibility at the forefront. All materials are easy to source and most are readily available, but if you don’t have access to all of the recommended materials, it doesn’t matter. What matters is taking the time for creativity and making space for your wellbeing.
Will I learn how to draw/paint?
Naturally you will pick up skills simply by doing the activity. But this isn’t a 1-hour “how to draw” class that you could find on Youtube. The focus is on the mental and well-being skills and the deep self-reflection. The art is the medium for something deeper. Discovering new creative tools that you can return to and explore further in the future is more of an additional benefit.
What happens if I have to cancel a workshop?
Life happens, right? You can reschedule appointements with Michelle up to three workdays before at no cost. If you need to reschedule more last-minute, this will count as one of your workshops within the package. We make exceptions for genuine life emergencies, and Michelle will always be in communication with you to find the best way forward.

What times will the workshops be?
You will be able to see the available times for the 30min kick-off call directly when you check-out. In this first conversation, you will be able to chat with Michelle about what days and times would work best for both of you and schedule all the sessions for the 1-1 journey. She is typically available Monday mornings and evenings, Tuesday mornings and afternoons, Wednesday morning and afternoons.
I haven’t done anything like this since school - do I need to be good at art?
No! You just need to be curious, come with an open mind, and be willing to put all your misconceptions aside about what “good art” looks like. We are not an art course and we don’t judge people on their perceived quality of work.
